Martin Cadman has spent over 30 years in the pensions business. During this time he has worked in many areas including international employee benefits, final salary schemes, executive and personal pensions. He was one of the first people to recognise the potential of Self invested Personal Pensions (SIPPS), and played a crucial role in creating and expanding this market.
Other pension related activities include Chairmanship of the SIPP Provider Group, on behalf of which he led the negotiations with the Government's simplification team in the run up to the introduction of the new pensions regime on 6 April 2006.
He has also been an OPAS adviser, author of a course for the Pensions Management Institute and represented the industry on various joint industry/government working groups. When Chairman of the SIPP Provider Group he developed, in conjunction with the Pensions Management Institute, a new professional qualification for pension administrators.
He has carried out many roles in the pensions industry and is currently a committee member of the Association of Member Directed Pension Schemes with responsibility for liaison with the Financial Services Authority and the Pensions Management Institute. He is a Bachelor of Arts, Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute, Chartered Insurance Practitioner and a Fellow of the Pensions Management Institute. He always wanted to be a jazz pianist.
