MC Trustees is the successor to the original pensions consultancy company set up by Martin Cadman in 1986.
As the company grew more office space was required; so, in 1997, we moved from a serviced office on the Birmingham Business Park to village life in Hampton-in-Arden.
As we continued to expand we moved again, this time into the unit next door to our original office in Hampton-in-Arden.
MC Trustees has always been conscious that we need to give help to others less fortunate. On a trip to Zambia, Martin was lucky enough to visit Kawaza School which was basically a hut without very much going for it. Please see our Charity Page for more information on the charity, and the wonderful work it has done.
Although there had been changes to pension legislation over the years one of the significant changes on A Day in 2006 (or Pension Simplification) meant we were able to accept Protected Rights into our SIPPS.
In 2009 we launched our Qualifying Recognised Overseas Pension Scheme (QROPS) which is based in Malta. This is now dealt with by a separate company, MC Trustees (Malta) Ltd. Please visit their Malta site for more information.
In 2012 we were lucky enough to be joined by Michael Smith as Technical Manager. Michael has worked in pensions for over 20 years. He worked at HMRC until mid-2005, where he latterly worked in the Technical section in Nottingham. His specialisms were personal pensions, drawdown and annuities, benefits and SIPP investments. He was heavily involved in the Simplification project, and drafted the original Lifetime Allowance, Benefit and Death chapters of RPSM.
We have been working with ex-pats in the US for several years so in 2014 we decided to branch out and provide a SIPP for US Persons.
2015 has seen the biggest changes to UK Pension regulations with the introduction of Pension Freedom. To this end we have kept our members fully updated with regular newsletters.
